Daytime Running Lights for Better Visibility
The trend started in Europe where during the cold, foggy days it is difficult to see oncoming cars. Later on, however it caught on as a stylish accessory and now everyone wants one. Daytime running LEDs in cars were not initially added as a move to improve aesthetics or appeal. It was introduced for improving safety. Those in favor of daytime running lights claimed they significantly reduce road deaths and serious injuries, while those against objected to the constant glare of headlights and voiced concern that motorcycle riders may become less conspicuous.
Daytime running LEDs start glowing once the engine is turned on for pedestrians to understand that the vehicle could potentially start moving even during day time. LEDs are not like the regular bulbs, they are more distinct during day light and beautiful to look at during nights. They consume lower electricity for the same illumination when compared to other lamps. Daytime running lights have been proven to dramatically reduce the chance of a car crash. Even though its daytime, it makes the car easier to see.
